The Annual Youth Education & Empowerment Summit

The Annual Youth Education & Empowerment Summit is the first ever international youth focus summit on education and will be the first international youth gathering hosted in Liberia. The summit is a platform to discuss challenges in the Education Sector and the role of young people in reimagining education through the means of innovation, social enterprise development and creativity. The summit provides an opportunity for young African leaders to collaborate, share best practices and challenge their thinking during interactive Plenary Sessions and Debates. Focus Sessions highlight innovative practices or projects, along with Workshops to facilitate collaboration on specific issues in Education. And finally; the summit will bring together the brightest students, youth activists, Leaders in society, entrepreneurs, professors and businessman to start a dialogue on the implications of a broken education system in Africa and what can be done about it.

Have you ever wondered if Africa will produce generational leaders that will rise up to change the destiny of Continent? Or have you thought about reimagining education for Africa using the modern day technologies?

Our Summit will help you understand the many facets of this very important issue in our daily lives. The project focuses on delivering the information and providing youth the opportunity to come up with new tools and creative means to solve those challenges.

In collaboration with our partner, Resource Alliance, Ghana, we will introduce to our participants to a strategic business management simulation which will test and improve their management, leadership and decision making skills as they prepare to change the story of Africa. The Simulation is based on a realistic business situation in which a number of virtual companies, represented by the teams taking part, compete against one another in a common business environment. A sophisticated and comprehensive computer model simulates the interactions of the various parts of each company, the competitive relationships between the companies and the background economic situation.

Yuxuan congrats on being in all tehse extraordinary action networks
involvement at WISE, an initiative under Qatar Foundation, started last November as a Learners' Voice fellow. The Learners’ Voice Program was established in 2010 to engage the views and creative energies of young people in addressing pressing global education issues and challenges. This program is delivered in partnership Yale fellows (Yale School of Management), Babson College and other leading organizations in the education sector. One of the program's requirements is for learners form teams and develop and undertake an international project related to education.
My project is about improving students' motivation through bringing education to life and life to education. We're aiming to bring in successful role models to Qatar public schools and take the students to site visits and field trips to connect what they learn in schools with real life experiences. This concept is new to the region. When Gordon at  mentioned the "integrated studies" approach, it is really interesting because it is very revolutionary for schooling system. I do believe this is an essential way to help kids become more motivated to learn, especially when they are originally disinterested in certain subjects. Basically it's like you are learning to explore the wonderful world, rather than rote learning different subjects.
About  upcoming project in rural China, it is under a Beijing-based organization called Serve for China, different project from WISE. Please do help share with me your experience in low-cost digital interactive learning and teaching. I'm currently looking for feasible and up-to-date innovative projects which I could later implement in my village to help village kids access better educational resources. Thank you so much for your great help!

Entrepreneurial Revolution - an investigation started at The Economist in the 1970s as to whether intergenerational investments in future systems would empower the net generation to be exponentially sustainable. Surveys of the next 40 years asked questions of 2015-2025 such as:

Would the global financial system be designed to sustain or collapse local communities?

Would 2015-2025 be the under 30s most exciting and productive time to be alive as they linked in sustainability of the human race.  Would the parts of the Western hemisphere that advanced the industrial revolution's empires demand that its politicians, professions and academics "happily get out of the way of the sustainability generation being led by the half of youth living within 3000 miles of Beijing"?

POP -Preferential Option Poor

Would every community's most trusted practitioners be educator, health servant and banker.
